Farrah & Clayton's Mechanics Hall Wedding

4.19.2012

On Saturday, April 14th, I had the honor of being the Day-of Coordinator for Farrah and Clayton's wedding held at the Mechanics Hall in Worcester, MA. If you've never been to Mechanics Hall, it is a concert hall with a 19th century elegance feel and the space is just breathtaking! The beautiful sunny day started with Farrah getting her hair and make-up done in the Green Room by one of my favorite artist, Noel McKinnon of Make Up 2 Die 4. Shortly after, Farrah got dress in her custom made, Sari and met Clayton on stage for their first look. The back drop created by Shagun Decorators was just amazing. Strings of crystals were hung on the pedestals with floating candles and red rose petals covering the top beam. Cristina of Cristina G Photography, a highly reputable photographer from Chicago capture the entire day perfectly!

That would be on the right helping our Bride with her shoes :)

Afterward, the entire bridal party took off in a limo provided by Metrowest Limousine and headed to WPI, the Higgins House on campus for more portraits. The ceremony took place on the stage of the Great Hall right before sunset and the room felt so romantic and intimate with votive candles surrounding the stage. Extreme Productions did a great job lighting the stage red and that really completed the look of the room. My favorite part of the ceremony is seeing both cultures, Pakistan and American combined into one. Also, I really loved watching Farrah and Clayton reading their vows to one another, so sweet!

Following the ceremony, cocktail hour was held in the Washburn Hall with live music provided by Amherst Ensemble. Caterer, Kabob and Curry provided the delicious Indian cuisine for both cocktail and dinner.

The Great Hall was transformed into the reception space during cocktail hour and Toupins Catering did an amazing job getting all the tables and chairs set up within an hour. A Beautiful Bouquet created the high and low floral centerpieces which paired with the champagne linens and the chiavari chairs provided by Gala LDT. For dinner, guests were treated to a delicious buffet with many different options even I couldn't believe it. But the dessert won my little heart. The wedding cake from Konditor Meister had 5 layers and 4 different flavors; pina colada, black forest, strawberry grand marnier and lemon raspberry. The cake was massive and so delicious! Guest also got to enjoy the photo booth by Red Eye Photobooth and Deejay Bunty, MC Mike and their entire Extreme Productions team really got the party started. All the guests were on the dance floor the whole night!

As for the guest favors, I created a custom red and gold candy station with 7 different types of candies; cherry gummy bears, twizzlers, red foiled chocolate balls, strawberry candy crystals,  butter toffee chocolate, almond hersey kisses and m&m's. (Couple of my favorite wholesale candy companies online are Candy Warehouse and Metro Candy). I used a gold linen to cover the table and placed boxes underneath to give the jars height. I finished off the candy buffet by placing candles all around the table.

Farrah and Clayton, have a wonderful time in Italy for your honeymoon! Thank you both so much for allowing me to take part of your wedding day. I sincerely feel I've gained two new friends after meeting the both of you. Also, thank you Joan and the entire Mechanics Hall team along with my two assistants, Tim and Phil for the wonderful job well done!

Sweet Planning!

Wine Themed Dessert Table l Housewarming

8.22.2011

This past Saturday, I had such a blast creating a wine themed dessert table for friends of mine who were hosting a housewarming party in Quincy, MA. The table creation had desserts from Cannolis, Red Velvet Cupcakes, Mini Tiramisus and many more mouth watering treats. When I was imagining the dessert table in my head, I wanted it to look simple and clean. My friend, Jane loves red wine so I took that idea and used it for our theme.
I decorated the table with bottles of Red Wine that Jane and Mike already had in their home. On the corners of the table, I placed couple of wine glasses and artificial grapes to give the table dimension and personality. The grapes were purchased from the Dollar Tree in Hanover, MA and the place cards were made at the Paper Store in Higham.

* Sorry for the low quality photos. I had left my camera at home so the next best thing was my Iphone.
The mini Cheesecakes, Fruit Tarts, Cannolis and Tiramisus are from Konditor Meister located in Braintree, MA
The fruit tarts were amazingly DELISH and the colors fit right into the theme
I purchased these chocolate chip cookies from a local bakery and placed them into clear baggies and tied it with a string. The cardstock, I cut them into square shapes and bought a “Thank You” stamp from Michaels Store and stamped the tags.

Congratulations to my good friends, Jane and Mike, on their gorgeous new home.  I can’t wait to stop by for our wine and cheese nights! Love you both.
Sweet Planning!
