Alicia + Jake | Fairmont Copley Hotel

4.28.2014

Earlier in April, I had the honor of coordinating Alicia and Jake’s wedding at the beautiful Fairmont Copley Hotel located right in the center of Back Bay Boston. The morning started off with the bridal party getting their hair done at Hairo, a blow-dry bar on Newbury Street. The bridesmaid’s lovely make up was by Janice of Beautiful Faces. While the ladies were getting ready, the gentlemen enjoyed their morning at the Barbershop Lounge, getting shaves and playing a little pool. Now that’s a great start to a wedding morning.

Caitlin Murphy Stylist did such a beautiful job on Alicia’s hair and makeup before her first look with Jake at the Boston Public Library. David Barnes Photography and David Bettencourt Video was there to capture the amazing moment. It was truly a fun moment to have people walk by congratulating the couple while taxis honk their horns just for A & J.

The intimate ceremony took place in the St. James Room with music played by harpist, Felice of Gilded Harps.

Afterwards, guests gathered at the Venetian Room for cocktail hour and dined on 6 different types of butler passed hors d’oeuvres: Maine crab cakes, crispy potato pancakes with apple salsa, baby lamb chop, Sambai chicken satay with red pepper almond sauce, manchego quiche tarts and Asian BBQ braised short rib with pineapple glaze.

The reception was held in the Oval Room and the space looked absolutely stunning with linens and chairs provided by Rentals Unlimited. Jen of The Tangled Web did a great job with a different white floral design for every table. Ryan of RC Up Lighting created a beautiful atmosphere and designed a one of a kind monogram for the dance floor. When it was time for dinner, guest dined on a three course meal with a menu of herb roasted North Atlantic halibut, rosemary crusted beef tenderloin and risotto with baby spinach, asparagus and mushroom.

One of my favorites of the evening was the wedding cake by Cakes to Remember. The four tiered cake was placed on an exquisite cleared stand with crystals dangled down and flowers placed in-between the box by Jen of Tangled Web.

When it was time to get the party started, the band, Clockwork, really got the crowd going. We passed out sunglasses with Alicia and Jakes names on them and comfortable flip flops for guests to dance the night away. Fame Photo Booth was also there to document the guests' evening.

After a fun evening of dancing, all the guests were treated to more delicious goodies. Cake pops by Cake Pop Boston along with Fenway snacks such as French fries served in miniature boxes, mini franks, hotdogs, burgers and warm pretzel bites with mustard were passed around the room. With another surprise of Dylan and Pete’s ice cream truck waiting outside for the guests.

The entire evening was just specular. Alicia and Jake really put a lot of thought into their wedding and the guests were treated like royalty. The night definitely ended with a bang! The band played the last song, “Shout” while a confetti bomb fell from the ceiling. That wasn’t the end to the evening. Bar bracelets were passed out afterwards with a private after party for all the wedding guests at the Back Bay Social Club.

Alicia and Jake, thank you so much for allowing us to coordinate your spectacular wedding day! We wish you both lots of happiness to come.

A special shout out goes to Alice of Fairmont Copley and my assistant, Samantha for both being so astonishing and helpful! You ladies rock!
